Pluto is very fearful around new people and will require an experienced, gentle guardian to help him gain confidence in meeting new people. He is best suited to a female guardian as he is extremely fearful of men. With a bit of extra time, he does warm up and is a total love bug! He loves to cuddle and be in your lap. Pluto can be excitable once he is comfortable, so rewards for calm behaviour will help him learn proper manners. An active home is a must for this guy - plenty of walks and daily outing will not only keep him physically tired, but mentally tired as well. Pluto is potty trained, but does have some anxiety here at the shelter. He does enjoy spending time in a crate and will likely be easy to crate train - this is great for fearful dogs as they quickly learn that that is their 'quiet' spot where they can be left alone if they are feeling uncomfortable. We think once he is in a routine and bonds with his human, this will lessen and he will be a great dog for a lucky person. Pluto can be reactive to some other male dogs, so slow, controlled introductions are best to help him make friends politely.
